Emma Jane Taylor is a dedicated campaigner raising awareness of child sexual abuse; focused on protecting children by regularly challenging difficult conversations. As a child Emma-Jane was told she was a failure, the girl going nowhere, she had a juvenile delinquent badge slapped on her when she was 13 by a psychiatrist. Being labelled at an early age came with difficulties, leading to most people believing she would be dead or in prison by the time she was 20, although for many the resultant mental trauma from child sexual abuse is prison enough.
She organically became a Campaigner, Speaker, Presenter, and Author on the subject of Child Sexual Abuse; having never set out believing she would ever speak up about her life.
Since 2017 she has been focusing on sharing important messages, creating safe-guarding workshops and ‘educating the educators’ on the importance of encouraging children to be empowered by their voice.
As the principal of StageWorks Performing Arts School, she knows how the early 'informative' years (3/4- 8) creativity helps develop the skills necessary for so much of children’s young life. She also values the importance interactive learning activity to promote learning skills.
She has created the Buddy Book series to create thought provoking conversations that children can enjoy with their educators, whether that be at school or with their parents/ guardians. The Buddy Book gently encourages children to process the importance of their voice, and also how they can take control of their body.
“Simple poetry is a great way for children to learn, gently. This gentle awareness early on establishes ground-work as the series develops, enveloping the child with protection”.
The Buddy Book aligns with ‘PACK (Permission, Awareness, Communication, Knowledge) for Life’ education programme, created by Emma-Jane for Project 90-10 Charity. The Buddy Book has grown in voice and presence.
The Buddy Book has been tried and tested by educators, parents, children, therapists. We are keen to continue exploring conversations.

One of the things Emma-Jane found when she started out as a campaigner, was the importance of being with a community of survivors of CSA around the world. Many of whom have become her friend. Through the connections she has made, she has gathered great knowledge. The voices she is connected with are therefore great educators for the work she is doing to campaign against CSA and protect children.
